South Korea Checks Darwin Mythology

Two icons of evolution in South Korean textbooks are slated for revision by some of the textbook publishers. In aftermath of a report entitled “South Korea Surrenders to Creationist Demands” in the journal Nature published on the 5th of June, the changes have been met widespread coverage, criticism and retribution in the US media, including the Los Angeles Times.

Of the seven major science textbook publishers in South Korea, three have agreed to remove or revise references to horses, and six publishers plan to delete or change chapters related to birds−long-standing staples of the evolution industry further tarnishing trusted icons of evolution.
