A clinical pharmacologist at Eisenhower Medical Center has released a book, “Darwin, Then and Now,” that explores scientific evidence from the past 150 years.
The book, written by Richard William Nelson, traces the history of science and tells the tale of who Charles Darwin was, what he said and what scientists have discovered since the publication of “The Origin of Species” in 1859.
Nelson uses more than 1,000 referenced quotations from scientists and historians. He also uses Darwin’s words from his books and personal letters.
The book release coincides with today’s 150th anniversary of the publication of “On the Origin of Species.”
Nelson received his doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Southern California and now lives in Palm Desert.
